Written by Conno1979, on 11:16AM 11-11-2008 I am getting one of these for my brother for xmas, so wondering what deals are out their. So far I have found EB Games has 60gb Pro Console + Assasins Greed + Lego Indiana + Kung Fu Panda for $399. Thats the best I can find so far, anyone else found any better deals. |
Written by blackraven, on 12:18PM 11-11-2008 If you can get to GAME they have the 60gb + Lego Indiana + Kung Fu Panda + either Fable 2 or GoW 2 for $399 - imo thats even better! i am soooo tempted! |
Written by blackraven, on 12:20PM 11-11-2008 i just had another thought... you could trade in the GoW2 game at EBGames and have a 60GB Xbox w/ 2 Games for $304... |
Written by PlasmaDavid, on 12:51PM 11-11-2008 Gah, just as I'm about to buy a 360 too :D Just gotta find out who's doing the best deal, I *was* going to go with Targets 379 Arcade + Halo 3 + 2 other games deal, but now prices are lowere dall round my search must begin anew! |
Written by WithTheDawn, on 03:53PM 11-11-2008 Fantastic, I was just about to get a 360 anyway, and now there is a considerable price drop. What annoys me to no end is that there are all these bundles with shovelware like Lego Indiana and Kung Fu Panda. I get that they are effectively free, but they taint my collection >_>. I guess I could go to Game, grab the pack with Fable 2, then sell the other two right away...are trade ins with brand new games worth a lot more? I mean, I could just orgainise it with them when I buy it, yeah? |
Written by PlasmaDavid, on 04:04PM 11-11-2008 That's what I hope to do with EB "I don't want those two other games, so could I instead pick two other games of equal or lesser value?" it makes perfect sense, and if our local EB won't do it I have half a mind to ask Poopi to see if Cam\Gametraders will do it. |
Written by blackraven, on 04:54PM 11-11-2008 i dont think so - because the two games come in the one box from microsoft as part of a special christmas thing - it's a "not for seperate sale" thing - but if it works then let us know |
Written by aniki_xiao, on 05:03PM 11-11-2008 Good luck with that... I don't think they will let you, but it never hurts to ask. Please let us know, how it went down... Btw Kung Fu Panda is not a bad game, anyhow you can always trade them in for a game you really want or an extra controller. Btw, can someone confirm if those two games are actually comes packaged with in the console box, or seperate? |
Written by PlasmaDavid, on 05:08PM 11-11-2008 The games are PGR 4 and Viva Pinata Party Animals, EBs price is $50 for them, so hopefully they have some better, less-than-$50 games that I'll be able to get instead. Should work too, since I'll be price matching, and as such none of the 3 bonus games will be "in the box" as such since I don't think target has the 3 games in a special 360 box-deal, and if they do then Eb and other places won't have the same thing so they'll have to give the games seperately anyway. Gonna check it out on Thursday so I'll give a shout what happens. Unless of course I find a better deal (ie not get an Arcade at all) |
Written by aniki_xiao, on 05:15PM 11-11-2008 As per my forum post; arcade @288 w/ Sonic tennis Pro @399 w/Assasin Creed, KangFu Panda & Lego Indianna Jones Elite @549 w/Halo 3, Mass Effect, KangFu Panda & Lego Indianna Jones Anyway, during lunch time I went down to EB and was just browsing, a bunch of 3 guys came in and as soon as they saw the Arcade@288, they brought one each. Talk about impulse buying, lolz. Thats one expensive lunch. |
Written by aniki_xiao, on 05:33PM 11-11-2008 sorry, my mistake I thought you were refering to Kunfu Panda and Lego Indiana Jones. Still I think you should get the pro pack in GAME or price match in EB. Even through I have an arcade, I can't stress how important it is to have a hard drive. I just recently got my 20G HD from the NXE deal for $35. And I have pretty much filled it up already. also call up ur local JB or EB and ask how much trade in they give you for Kunfu panda and Lego Indianna Jones, I think those two will be enough to cover the cost of a Pre-owned Halo 3 at JB, if thats the case just ask EB to price match it for u (they do match pre-owned games prices in JB). |
Written by PlasmaDavid, on 05:39PM 11-11-2008 Check the Targetcatalogue for the bundle that includes Halo 3 to see what I'm thinking of price matching, though the price drop menas I have to scout out what changes. |
Written by aniki_xiao, on 12:59PM 12-11-2008 While I was picking up my GHWT (got it for $258, price matched to Big W's pre-order price) I saw a guy asking for the GAME Pro deal in EB. They allowed him to do it and staright away he traded the GOW2 in for $95.70 credit before he paid for the whole thing, so the EB chic reduced the Pro to $303.30 (he had heaps of gift card so I guess he does lots of trade ins and it probably cost him hardly anything with real world money). I was like nicely done dude, I asked him if he knows Ecogamer, he said no, so i said you should join the site. Btw, it was at EB games in Melbourne CBD Elizabeth street store. If you guys are still interested, better act fast, both the GOW2 tradein deal and GAME Pro deal ends TODAY!!! |
Written by Dan, on 02:12PM 12-11-2008 GOW2 tradein for $95 ends tomorow |
