Effective today, Microsoft have dropped the recommended retail price on all of thier Xbox 360 packages. The new prices are:
- Xbox 360 Arcade - $299 ($50 cheaper)
- Xbox 360 (60GB) - $399 ($100 cheaper)
- Xbox 360 Elite - $549 ($100 cheaper)

In an effort to prepare consumers for the New Xbox Experience, Microsoft are offering owners of Xbox 360 Core and Arcade consoles an option to upgrade their storage. Please note that your eligibility is dependant on what storage devices you have already used on your Xbox 360.
- Nothing or a 64MB memory card: Free 512MB memory card or a $34.99 20GB HDD
- 256MB or a 512MB memory card: $34.99 20GB HDD
- 20GB HDD or above: Nothing
If you are eligible for a hard drive or memory card and have not had an Xbox Live Gold subscription for 12 months you receive a free 3 month Gold subscription as well. The Arcade is excluded from the first offer because it comes with a 256MB card.
Please note: Make sure to select Australia from the country list before submitting your console details to ensure you get the Australian address details screen.

Next weekend you will be able to play Crysis Wars, the multiplayer expansion for Crysis for free. You might want to preregister as to download the game early in preparation.
Electronic Arts and Crytek are announcing today that Crysis Wars, the new multiplayer suite for Crytek’s award-winning Crysis franchise and part of the critically acclaimed Crysis Warhead package, will be available for free from Friday, October 10th through Sunday, October 12th.
Starting on Monday, October 6th, gamers can take advantage of this offer by registering online at www.mycrysis.com. After registration, those who sign up will be emailed a unique activation key that will allow them to immediately play Crysis Wars on LAN for the entire week and will allow them to play on Gamespy servers from October 10th at 11:00 AM PT to October 12th at 11:59 PM.
You can play locally immediately and online is enabled 5pm Saturday AEST (remember DST is now in effect in Eastern states).
