Been using the site for a while (started just before I got my Wii a few months ago), and just thought I might pop by the forums and say hai. The catalog scans have been especially useful for me, since I don't actually live near any of these shops to look at them myself. The price roundups are useful, too, although I haven't had the opportunity to buy launch games yet. Just about all my Wii collected has been bought with specials/deals seen on the site! =D
I'm generally into FPS, Adventure/RPG, fighter, and platformer games. I do like a little RTS (usually squad-based) and turn-based action occasionally. I've typically only done PC gaming, but a combination of a now very old PC set and the seemingly uniqueness of the Wii controls compared the the PS3 and 360 kinda won me over to the Wii. The only console I owned previously was a Sega Master System (with Alex the Kid in Miracle World built-in) donated to be from a family member, with such 'classics' as:
Alien Storm Sonic the Hedgehog California Games (probably got the biggest playtime) Aztec Adventures E-Swat, Action Fighter Michale Jackson's Moonwalker (I think that was the name) Bank Panic Super Tennis World Grand Prix Vigilante American Pro Football (could never work that one out)
Will probably have to get the Alex the Kid game to finish it some time on the VC, since I could never find the time to do it in one session =)
Currently, my Wii collection includes:
Mario Kart Wii (got it and the Wii a couple weeks after launch) Big Brain Academy for Wii (actually fairly cool, got it cheaply with a remote) Rayman Raving Rabbids (quite like it, especially the dancing, with they'd do a proper platformer, though) Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz (also fun, shame most of the minis are ****) Red Steel (much better than I expected [someone else got it cheaply], looking forward to getting more FPS games if the controls are meant to be much better) Worms: Space Oddity (haven't played it much at all for some reason, probably just haven't got into it yet)
So many cool games are left for me to get! Hoping to get Brawl, Zelda: TP, Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, the UK version of MoH: Heroes 2, Zack & Wiki, Resident Evil 4 (never got the opportunity to play it), Super Paper Mario, Okami, No More Heroes, etc. etc. =)
I've also got a few VC games (played with 2 classic controllers, again with specials found on the site):
Zelda: Ocarina of Time (awesome game so-far, I never got the opportunity to play it) Samurai Shodown II (much cooler than Super Street Fighter 2 IMO)
I previously was into emulation on the PC, but getting these games on the VC again now that I have a console feels much better. I currently have 2100 points left to spend...
Anyway, thanks again for the awesome site, you've certainly saved me at least $100 so-far =D
